St. Gregory's provide an enriching and innovative curriculum, which has been carefully designed with subject experts, to ensure all learners acquire the knowledge, skills and cultural capital they need to succed in life and fulfil their potential.
Our exciting and stimulating curriculum is coherently planned and sequenced. Through Anchor Tasks, we ensure all pupils retrieve, and cumilatively build upon, previous learning to ensure that they can learn more, remember more and do more.
We broaden children’s understanding of various cultures: developing empathy, respect and celebrating difference. We are proud to develop confident 'learners for life' who embrace new challenges and experiences, working independently and collaboratively, so that they emerge as resilient and responsible learners. We encourage a mindful approach to relationships and learning in order to ensure that our children develop the knowledge and skills they need to become citizens of the 21st Century.
We implement a curriculum which is enriched by carefully-planned experiences outside of the classroom, in the local community and wider environment. We recognise the importance of creating links within learning because where links are effective, they enable pupils to apply their knowledge and skills across areas of learning.
Our Curriculum 'Learning Behavours':
At St. Gregory’s, our curriculum is underpinned by our school learning behaviours. Our learning behaviour’s are rooted in our school mission statement and are research-informed derived from Unicef’s ‘12 Transferrable Skills’. We ensure that throughout the teaching and learning at St. Gregory’s, all pupils are provided with a range of opportunities to foster the development of transferable skills including cognitive, social and emotional skills, which enable our children to continue lifelong learning and become active stewards.
