St. Gregory’s are proud to provide a broad, balanced and varied program which meets the requirements of the National Curriculum for PE, as well as inspiring children at St. Gregory’s to foster their love of physical activity.

High-quality opportunities for physical education, experienced in a safe and supportive environment, is crucial to pupils’ physical and emotional development, and health. Our Physical Education curriculum aims to increasing pupils’ self-confidence by developing their ability to manage themselves successfully in a variety of situations. A carefully-planned balance of individual, team, co-operative and competitive activities cater for individual pupil’s needs and abilities.

At St. Gregory’s, all children have meaningful opportunities to develop their physical literacy by achieving challenging goals. Our curriculum ensures pupils’ sequential acquisition of key knowledge and skills throughout each child's journey from the EYFS to Year Six. Our well-planned, progressive curriculum, combined with varied and flexible teaching implementation, provides stimulating, challenging and enjoyable learning opportunities for all pupils.
